As we all take precautionary measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, we are all finding ourselves at home. Those with children and educators find themselves with the need to continue educating their children and/or students. While St. Cornelius has a plan to ensure students stay on track in their education using different forms of distance learning, use WHYY’s resources to add to their education.
WHYY has taken the initiative to expand both our on-air and online educational program to use inside and outside of school settings. While we experience these uncertain times, the education of our children is as necessary as ever. We will continue airing our education television programming on WHYY’s main, YKids and Y2 channels and add resources to PBSkids.org, the PBS Kids App and PBSLearningMedia.org.
Tune into WHYY’s main channel from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for content that will both entertain and educate your children. WHYY 12.1 is available on Comcast 812 and FiOs 512. Y2 is available on 12.2 or 64.2, Comcast 257, Verizon Fios 474. YKids 12.3 on Comcast is 258 and FIOS, 473. Visit whyy.org/learning for more information on programming.
We encourage teachers to utilize the online tools to help reach students digitally while they are home from school. Visit pbslearningmedia.org for more information.
